Privacy Policy

Your health data belongs to you. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how it's protected.

Last updated: July 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Overheal ("we", "us", "the app") handles your information. By using Overheal you agree to the practices described here.

01Information We Collect

  • Account details — your email address, handled through Firebase Authentication.
  • Food logs — the meals and items you record, with timestamps.
  • Health profile — age, sex, height, weight, and activity level, used to calculate your targets.
  • Device diagnostics — anonymized crash reports and diagnostics to keep the app reliable.

02How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the app's features, calculate your nutrition targets, sync your data across your devices, generate AI-assisted suggestions, send notifications you've enabled, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal health data, and we do not use it for advertising.

03Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google) — authentication and secure cloud storage of your data.
  • Anthropic Claude API — powers AI food recognition and suggestions. Only anonymized nutritional summary data is sent — no personally identifiable information.
  • Open Food Facts — barcode and food-database lookups, performed anonymously.

04Data Storage & Security

Your information is stored with Google Firebase. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. Access controls restrict your private data to your own account.

05Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data until you delete it. You can permanently remove your account and its data at any time from Settings in the app. Full removal is completed within 30 days.

06Children's Privacy

Overheal is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

07Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you through an in-app notice or by email. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
